Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Reach Out Directly
Visit the official website or social media pages of WeAreStrongTeam or Novel-C Family Foundation. Look for a “Volunteer” or “Join Us” section.

  2. Submit a Volunteer Form
Fill out their application form with your name, contact info, location, skills, and availability. Mention if you have experience with children, healthcare, education, or special needs.

  3. Choose Your Role
Volunteers are needed in many areas—teaching, physical therapy support, media production, fundraising, logistics, translation, and social outreach.

  4. Interview or Orientation
Some programs may require a quick Zoom interview or on-site orientation to ensure your role matches the needs and mission of the team.

  5. Training (if needed)
Depending on the project—especially with special needs children—you may receive short training on how to interact or assist effectively.

  6. Start Volunteering
You may help directly with children in Damascus, support events in the U.S. (like fundraisers or awareness campaigns), or assist remotely with editing, media, design, or outreach.

  1. Understand the Mission
Make sure you align with the foundation’s core mission: supporting children with special needs (especially in Syria), promoting dignity, education, and healing through compassion and action.

  2. Your Role Matters
Whether you’re helping directly on the ground, organizing fundraisers, or doing digital work remotely—every role counts. Be clear about your availability, skills, and what kind of help you’re offering.

  3. It’s Emotionally Powerful Work
Many of the children and families the foundation serves are living in hardship—poverty, disability, or war-affected zones. This work can be incredibly fulfilling, but also emotional. Be prepared.

  4. Consistency Is Important
The team depends on reliable people. Before applying, ask yourself:
Can I commit to this for a few weeks or months, even a few hours a week?
Consistency builds trust with the children and the team.

  5. You Might Need Clearance or a Background Check
If you’re working directly with children (especially in the U.S. or Europe), you may be asked to submit a background check or personal references.

  6. Cultural Sensitivity
Many families served are Syrian, Arab, or Muslim. Respect for cultural and religious values is essential. Knowing some basic Arabic or cultural etiquette can help.

  7. Remote or On-Site Options
You don’t have to be physically in Syria or New Jersey to help. There are remote opportunities in editing, fundraising, design, writing, translation, and more.

  8. Team Communication
Most volunteers coordinate through WhatsApp, Zoom, or email. Make sure you can respond in a timely and respectful manner.

  9. This Is Not Paid Work
Volunteering means you’re offering your time and heart freely. It’s not about a paycheck—it’s about impact.

  10. You Represent the Foundation
When you volunteer, you carry the name of the team. Be kind, professional, and uplifting in all communication—whether on-site, online, or at events.

1. Initial Interest

Start by expressing your interest. You can:

  • Send an email to the foundation (e.g., info@nabulsifoundation.org or a contact they provide).

  • Fill out a contact or volunteer form if available on their website or social media.

  • Reach out via WhatsApp or direct message if shared by the team.

Tip: Include your full name, location, age (if relevant), skills, and how you’d like to help.

2. Volunteer Form or Online Questionnaire

Once they receive your interest, the team may send you a short volunteer intake form to collect:

  • Your background (education or work)

  • Languages spoken

  • Areas of interest (e.g. working with children, media, admin, fundraising)

  • Available hours and days

  • If you are volunteering remotely or in person

3. Interview or Informal Chat

Some applicants—especially those applying for direct work with children—might have a brief:

  • Phone call or Zoom meeting with a coordinator

  • Purpose: to understand your motivation and match you to the right project

4. Background Check or ID Verification (If Required)

If your role involves in-person work with minors, especially outside Syria (like the U.S. or Europe), you may be asked to:

  • Submit a background check

  • Provide references

  • Share a copy of your ID

5. Orientation and Guidelines

Before starting, you will receive:

  • A volunteer handbook or orientation document

  • Information about the foundation’s values, mission, child safety policies, and how to represent the team publicly

6. Start Volunteering

Once approved, you’ll be assigned to one of these roles:

  • Assisting directly with special needs children (for local volunteers)

  • Supporting events or fundraisers (especially in NJ, NY, or online)

  • Creating content (photo, video, design, writing, translation)

  • Media distribution or social media support

  • Administrative or outreach tasks

7. Ongoing Communication

You’ll likely be added to:

  • A WhatsApp group, email list, or Slack workspace

  • Regular check-ins or coordination calls, depending on your team

🕊️ Why This Matters

Volunteering with this foundation is not just giving time—it’s joining a mission. Each volunteer becomes part of the extended family working to create joy and dignity for children facing challenges most of us can’t imagine.

💙 Be the Reason a Child Smiles

Volunteering is not about giving what’s left of your time it’s about giving what’s most meaningful.

At WeAreStrongTeam, in partnership with the Nablusi Family Foundation, we believe that every child—especially those with disabilities, trauma, or poverty—deserves dignity, care, and love. But we can’t do it alone.

We need you.

🌍 Whether you’re in New Jersey or Damascus, behind a camera or on a classroom floor, your time, talent, and heart can change lives.

📚 Teach.
🎨 Create.
🤝 Support.
📢 Advocate.
🧡 Simply be there.

No effort is too small. One hour. One story. One child at a time.

You don’t need to be a hero. Just human.

Join our movement.
Volunteer with purpose.
Be part of something bigger.
